Go App Lock — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 September 2026

In short:

We do not run servers for this app and we never receive your personal data.
Your master password and your list of locked apps stay on your device.
Purchases are processed by Google Play.
Ads are shown only if you choose the "Free with ads" plan. Those ads are provided by Google AdMob, which collects some device data. The Free and Premium plans show no ads.

1. Who we are

Go App Lock ("the app") is published on Google Play by Brati LLC. For any privacy question, contact us at sakpinar@bratillc.com.

2. Data stored only on your device

To work, the app keeps the following information locally. We do not operate any server and this information is never sent to us.

3. Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Premium subscriptions and the one-time Premium purchase are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment card or billing details. The app only receives the status of your purchase from Google Play so it can unlock Premium. Google's handling of payment information is described in the Google Payments Privacy Notice.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

This section applies only if you choose the "Free with ads" plan. The free trial, the Free plan and the Premium plan show no ads and do not load the advertising service.

On the "Free with ads" plan the app shows a banner ad inside its own screens, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect:

device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID;
IP address and approximate location derived from it;
device and app information (model, operating system version, app version, language);
interactions with ads (views and taps).

Your consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time in Go App Lock > Settings > Ad privacy choices.

Opting out

Switch to the Free plan or to Premium: no ads are shown and the advertising service is not used.
Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.

Ads are never shown on the lock screen that appears over your other apps.

5. Biometric data

Fingerprint and face unlock are handled entirely by the Android operating system through the standard BiometricPrompt API. The app only receives a yes/no result. It never has access to your fingerprint, face data or any biometric template.

6. Permissions and why they are needed

Permission	Purpose
Usage access `PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS`	Used only to read which app is currently in the foreground, so the lock screen can be shown when you open a locked app. Usage history is not recorded, stored or shared.
Display over other apps `SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW`	Used only to show the lock screen on top of the app you protected.
Foreground service `FOREGROUND_SERVICE`, `FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE`	Keeps protection running while it is turned on. A permanent notification is always visible while the service runs.
Notifications `POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	Required on Android 13 and later to show the protection notification.
Biometrics `USE_BIOMETRIC`	Lets you unlock with fingerprint or face instead of typing your password.
Run at startup `RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`	Restarts protection after the device reboots, only if you had it turned on.
Battery optimization `REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS`	Optional. Lets you prevent the system from stopping protection in the background.
Internet and network state `INTERNET`, `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`	Required by Google Play Billing to check purchases, and by Google AdMob to load ads on the "Free with ads" plan. The app itself does not send your data anywhere.
Google Play purchases `com.android.vending.BILLING`	Lets you buy Premium through Google Play.
Advertising ID and Android ad services `AD_ID`, `ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*`	Added by Google AdMob. Used only on the "Free with ads" plan, subject to your consent where required.

7. Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data, and we do not receive it. Data processed by Google Play (purchases) and Google AdMob ("Free with ads" plan only) is handled by Google as described above.

8. Deleting your data

All data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app. You can also clear it at any time from Android Settings > Apps > Go App Lock > Storage > Clear storage. Your purchases are linked to your Google account and are kept by Google Play; uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
